What is SDA?
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) refers to accommodation for people who require specialist housing solutions, including to assist with the delivery of supports that cater for their extreme functional impairment or very high support needs.
Funding is only provided to a small proportion of NDIS participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs who meet specific eligibility criteria.
SDA funding under the NDIS will stimulate investment in the development of new high quality dwellings for use by eligible NDIS participants. SDA funding is not support services, but is instead for the homes in which these services are delivered.

Am I or my family/friends eligible for SDA?
SDA funding is available to approximately 6% of NDIS participants and only to those with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. The SDA is a property designed to support NDIS participants to live independently outside of residential aged care, the health care system or when home support from family is not possible.

Can I afford a Livello SDA?
Rent for an SDA is funded via the NDIA and the tenants. If you are living in a Livello SDA and receiving the disability support pension, rent will be capped at 25% of you weekly allowance.
Can Livello build me an SDA?
Yes! We are aiming to develop nationwide and to a range of requirements and design categories. Please contact us so we can talk through your options.
